Today is purple day for epilepsy awareness! Wear your purple and show your support. My brother deals with epilepsy on a daily basis. I have posted his story below. It is his hope to inspire others living with epilepsy to be positive.
Purple Day is dedicated to increasing awareness about #epilepsy worldwide. There are 65 million people around the world living with epilepsy, and family and friends affected by epilepsy. Don't forget to wear some purple and encourage those you know to show their support by wearing the color purple too! (The Epilepsy Network) "Tomorrow March 26 is epilepsy awareness day! People are encouraged to wear purple all around the world, 50 million people have epilepsy worldwide and it is estimated that 1 in 100 people have epilepsy in the world! I've had epilepsy for 12 years now. Having a seizure can be very frustrating and scary knowing that it is happening and I can do nothing about it. I've also learned over the years that they are going to happen and there is no need to be embarrassed about having them like I used to be. Over those 12 years I've learned to persevere through the tough times. I've learned no one will judge me or make fun of me. Having said that I feel that epilepsy has made me a better, stronger, more resilient person! That is why it is important to raise awareness for epilepsy! It can go a long way for people in the future!#epilepsyawarnessdaymarch26" - Johnathon Healy
